Virtual Palau
An interactive, multimedia digital cybertour.

kbbridge.jpg (42755 bytes) You are at the remains of the K-B Bridge.  At one point, a large, cantilevered bridge arced gracefully over the channel, connecting Airai and Koror.   But in 1996, the bridge suddenly collapsed, killing two people.  You are on a bumpy floating bridge that was installed next to the remains as a temporary measure, and from here, you can see to the east the giant concrete supports for the former bridge.   Just beyond the top of each support, the bridge deck makes a 45 degree angle and drops beneath the surface of the water.

Dozens of Palauans stand along the edge of the temporary bridge, fishing rods in hand.  The dark blue water of the channel looks cool and inviting, but it's moving awfully fast. . .

The police are closing in on you.  By the way, you are still sweating.  Just in case you forgot.

You can:
Swim for it
Hide in the bushes
Hide under the bridge
Run south towards Koror
Run north towards the airport
